West Brom post job advert for financial controller amid Hawthorns controversy
West Brom are looking to recruit a new financial advisor to the club’s staff amid recent controversy surrounding their financial situation.
The Baggies have been plunged into disarray after owner Guochuan Lai didn’t pay back a £4.75m loan on time and then took out a £20m loan against the club’s assets in December.
And as concerns for their situation rise, the club posted a job advert on their LinkedIN page where they revealed a vacancy for a financial controller to help them with their books and reporting going forward.

“We are recruiting a fully experienced financial controller who will be responsible for all aspects of financial month end reporting, year-end reporting, forecasting and financial control procedures,” they wrote (10 January).
Needed
West Brom currently need all the financial help they can get, and if that means bringing someone in who can get the books in order then it makes sense.
The real problem is the owner, who has taken money out of the club and put nothing in, leaving us in an incredibly precarious position going forward if we’re not able to secure promotion from the Championship.

On the pitch, things are looking up. Carlos Corberan has come in and delivered a more exciting style of play than Steve Bruce ever did and he’s got the players performing to the level expected of them.
We’ve shot up from the relegation zone into playoff contention with eight wins in the last ten games in all competitions and are now just one point off the playoff places.
If we can continue this form then the mood around the club will stay high, but no matter what happens on the pitch fans won’t be happy until Lai is gone and our club is safe.
