West Brom could look to sign Everton midfielder James Garner on loan

West Brom could look for a stopgap central midfield option in January and may turn to Everton midfielder James Garner on loan.

According to Express and Star, the former Manchester United midfielder is one of four potential names they could look to sign on loan.

He moved to Goodison Park over the summer for £9million but has found game time hard to come by due to the array of midfielders the Toffees signed a few months ago.

He struggled for game time at the super-rich Manchester United and it’s been a similar story for him at Everton.

This could mean that they may look for a temporary destination for him until the end of the season and the Hawthorns could be exactly that.

Last season, Garner was on loan at Nottingham Forest and performed exceptionally well for Steve Cooper’s side as they secured promotion.

He was one of the best midfield players in the Championship and surely would be a good signing for Carlos Corberan’s side.

Lewis O’Brien has been linked with a move to the Hawthorns but in case that doesn’t pan out they can always turn to Garner.

We do not think Everton would mind allowing him to leave on loan as they would not want his progress halted with him sitting on the bench.

It would be a game-changing signing for Corberan too who has proven that he deserves to be backed after the fine start he’s had to life as West Brom manager with promotion now looking a very real possibility.

In other West Brom news, Guochuan Lai wants to sell the club with the takeover now dependant on one condition.
