Dean Ashton shares West Brom playoff verdict after 3-2 comeback win v Luton
Dean Ashton and Jules Breach shared their West Brom verdicts after the Baggies’ terrific 3-2 comeback win against Luton Town on 14 January.
The Albion now sit in the playoff positions in the Championship table, something that fans could never have dreamed of when Steve Bruce left the club lingering in the relegation zone just months ago.
Breach confessed that the turnaround in form since the arrival of Carlos Corberan has been “unbelievable” something that Ashton couldn’t agree more with.
“The turn in form under Carlos Corberan is unbelievable,” said an astonished breach on ITV’s English Football League Highlights show (14 January, 28:28).
“To win nine in 10 is incredible, he seems to have sorted out the defence, I know they conceded a couple of goals today but they look so much harder to beat, score against and he seems to have got the right combination at the top of the pitch,” replied Ashton.
“If you’re a Baggies fan and you’re up there now in the playoffs, you’ve got to be thinking how has that turned around so quickly but it can in the Championship if you get the right manager in who knows what he is doing.”

West Brom were in the relegation places at the start of November but a ninth win in 11 games has lifted the club to the dizzy heights of the playoff positions.
Everything about the performance at Kenilworth Road displayed just how good the Albion are playing at the moment and the sense of belief is a joy to see.
Corberan has gotten this team playing to his music and it’s frustrating to think where the team would be if he had been appointed earlier.
Nevertheless, fans will be more than happy with the club’s current league position, something which will only improve if the Baggies keep churning out wins.
It looks like something special might be happening this season at The Hawthorns, a playoff picture that was unimaginable months ago is becoming a reality.
Who knew that sacking Bruce would be the remedy to cure West Brom? The Corberan era is here and will hopefully be staying for a long time.
