Carlos Corberán makes nine changes- Confirmed West Brom XI v Burnley

Carlos Corberan’s West Brom starting XI for the Championship clash against Burnley (Friday 20 January) at Turf Moor has been confirmed by the club.

The Baggies arrive on the back of a 4-0 drubbing of Chesterfield in the FA Cup third round, and an impressive 3-2 win over Championship play-off rivals Luton Town.

West Brom announced their starting line-up on Twitter, with Corberan making nine changes to the side who beat Chesterfield in midweek.

Alex Palmer is restored in net, while Darnell Furlong, Conor Townsend Erik Pieters and Dara O’Shea are recalled in defence.

Daryl Dike leads the line for the Baggies, with Jed Wallace also restored in attack. Grady Diangana and John Swift are the only two names to keep their spots in the line-up from midweek.

Jayson Molumby and Okay Yokuslu also start in the middle of the park for Corberan.

West Brom

Huge match

Championship matches don’t get much bigger than this one at Turf Moor, as table-topping Burnley look to stretch their gap to Corberan’s in-form Baggies side.

West Brom will certainly be up against it on Friday night, as The Clarets hold an 18 point gap to the Spaniard’s side in sixth – highlighting their superiority in the league this season.

If the Baggies can claim a result from this clash, it will be a serious statement of intent, and will strike fear into those teams gunning for a play-off promotion spot this season.

Considering their ridiculously strong form since the arrival of Corberan, their next challenge is to try and reel in Sheffield United in second place in the table. A 13 point gap may seem huge and insurmountable, but stronger things have happened in the Championship before.

Despite facing arguably the toughest test of the season, the Baggies have cause for hope, as they have won four of their five league games away from one under their new boss.
