Carlos Corberan admits to paying attention to situations of Cedric Kipre and Alex Mowatt away from West Brom
Carlos Corberan has admitted that he has been following the progress of loanees Alex Mowatt and Cedric Kipre to decide their West Brom future.
Kipre has spent the first half of the season with Cardiff while Mowatt has been at Middlesbrough, and both players will have just 12 months remaining on their Baggies contracts in the summer.
And now Corberan has shared that he is keeping an eye on both players and their game time, or lack of, before making a decision on their future for next season.

“I had the discussion with the players who are on loan,” Corberan said, as quoted by Birmingham Mail (25 January). “For me it’s important for them to know that I’m following them. I’m watching whether they’re playing, or not playing, and a summary of the actions they do.
“It’s important for me to analyse every player we have in the club. I usually spend a lot of time with the academy coaches talking about the growing of our young players.
“I spend time with Chris Brunt, who is in charge of the loans, to see what he’s seeing because I like to have a look at the players. I had a previous conversation with them to let them know that I am following them.”
No future
It shouldn’t take too long or be too difficult for Corberan to realise that both Kipre and Mowatt shouldn’t have a future at The Hawthorns beyond the summer.

Kipre had a good spell under Valerien Ismael but lost his place under Steve Bruce and hasn’t really been missed, while Mowatt was a signing that had great potential but never really worked out.
The club have got far better options than both now and getting their wages off the books and using them to bring in other players who are more useful and younger would be preferable.
The fact Kipre is playing in a side battling relegation and that Mowatt can’t get in the side at Boro who are competing for promotion should say it all.
There is every chance we’ll be in the Premier League next season considering the progress made under Corberan, and he will know better than anyone that they’re simply not at that level.
In other West Brom news, the club have appointed a new scout as part of the backroom staff.
