Carlos Corberan to stay at West Brom despite Everton talks, he’s loving life at The Hawthorns
Carlos Corberan is expected to remain as West Brom manager, following links to the vacant managerial position at Everton, according to talkSPORT.
According to The Independent [25 January], the Toffees were involved in talks with the Spanish coach along with Marcelo Bielsa to replace Frank Lampard and become the club’s new manager.
It is understood that the Blues, who sacked Lampard on Monday (23 January), have also held talks with Ralph Hasenhuttl, ex-Baggies boss Sam Allardyce and current Albion manager Corberan, who worked alongside Bielsa at Elland Road.

However, the Spaniard has ruled himself out of the running for the vacant position which will come as a source of great joy to the Baggies faithful.
According to talkSPORT sources [25 January], the former Huddersfield Town boss is currently loving life in the Midlands and that a move away so soon after his appointment in October would be surprising.
Great news
This is great news for the Baggies faithful as they get to keep a top-class manager who will certainly continue the tremendous job he’s currently doing at the Hawthorns.
Indeed, the club have undergone something of a sensational transformation since Corberan took over, as they were sitting in the relegation places when he was appointed in October.

Three months on, and he’s taken them to superb heights, currently sitting just outside the play-off places by a single point. Over the course of his reign, the Baggies have won 10 out of his 14 games in charge lifting them to become strong promotion candidates.
Not only has he transformed the club’s fortunes, but he’s also dramatically improved the players at his disposal in such a short space of time with the likes of John Swift, Jayson Molumby and Darnell Furlong currently enjoying a tremendous upturn in form and performance levels.
There’s no doubt Corberan harbours ambitions to manage in the Premier League in the future, and he’s certainly one of the brightest upcoming coaches in the country but for now he’s got a big job to do at West Brom.
In other West Brom news, Guochuan Lai wants to sell the club with the takeover now dependent on one condition.
