Kevin Campbell reacts as Everton target West Brom manager Carlos Corberan
We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…
Kevin Campbell has suggested West Brom won’t be able to stand in the way of Carlos Corberan if a bigger club comes in the 39-year-old.
The Independent report (25 January) that Everton are in talks with the Albion boss as they search for Frank Lampard’s replacement at Goodison Park.
Campbell has suggested it would be “very difficult” for West Brom to keep the Spaniard due to the funds available at Premier League clubs.

“I don’t think they can [compete with the finances of Premier League clubs] at the moment because if Everton want him, they’d have to be quick,” Campbell exclusively told West Brom News.
“The problem is when teams like that come in it’s very difficult for West Brom to keep him because these clubs have the funds to really make a difference to managers like that.
“It’s just one of them where they need to hold their breath a little bit and wait till the storm passes and hope Corberan is still there.”

Losing Corberan would be another huge twist in Albion’s season and one could see the Baggies suffer a downturn in form. He has had a transformative impact since his arrival at The Hawthorns and losing him would be a massive blow to the Baggies’ promotion hopes.
There are other contenders for the Everton job – and The Hawthorns faithful will be hoping the Premier League club turn their attention elsewhere in the coming days.
In other West Brom news, Albion are trying to sign this Brighton player on loan.
