Journalist slams ‘Awful’ Jayson Molumby in West Brom v Bristol City FA Cup clash
Elias Burke has slammed West Brom midfielder Jayson Molumby for his “awful” touch in the middle of the park against Bristol City.
The Baggies find themselves losing 2-0 at half-time in the FA Cup and the Athletic journalist singled out Molumby for his error which led to Bristol hitting them on the counter.
The visitors may have dominated possession, but it’s the hosts who’ve capitalised on their chances and been clinical in front of goal.
Via Twitter, Burke wrote, “Molumby, with an awful touch in midfield, allows Bristol to pounce and hit Albion on the counter. Sykes plays an enticing ball across a six-yard box, and Scott on hand to tap in at the far post. So poor again.”
Very poor
The Baggies have not gotten out of second gear in this clash and the scoreline clearly reflects that.
They have been passive with the ball and needless giveaways as the ones we’ve seen have cost them time and again.
Carlos Corberan really needs to get into their heads and perhaps make a couple of changes at the break as this team isn’t playing with any cohesion.
They may be keeping the ball well but it’s about time they need to start doing something with and being a real goal threat.
Hopefully, the 15-minute break gives them some time to cool off and refresh themselves for the next three quarters of an hour.
This game is still there for the taking and an early goal for West Brom in the second half could see them turn things around.
In other West Brom news, Guochuan Lai wants to sell the club with the takeover now dependent on one condition.
