West Brom not ruling out permanent transfer for Fulham midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah before January transfer
West Brom are locked in talks with Fulham about a deadline-busting transfer for Nathaniel Chalobah, and haven’t ruled out a permanent deal.
The Baggies have been linked with a move for the former England under-21 international on loan for the rest of the season as Carlos Corberan looks to boost his midfield options.
And while negotiations with Fulham continue about a transfer with a loan-to-buy deal on the cards, West Brom are not ruling out the possibility of making it a permanent deal before the transfer deadline on Tuesday night according to The Athletic.

“Nathaniel Chalobah has been the subject of interest from West Bromwich Albion, who are also thought to be looking at other targets,” they wrote (29 January).
“Talks have taken place regarding the former Watford midfielder, initially around a loan with option to buy, but a permanent move has not been ruled out.”
Solid
Chalobah has won promotion from the Championship to the Premier League twice before, and his experience and quality would be a fantastic addition to The Hawthorns.
His lack of game time in recent times has come because of injury problems and the fact the club have invested heavily on improving their squad to be able to compete in the Premier League, something Marco Silva has achieved.

A loan with the option to make it permanent in the summer seems like it would be the best deal for all parties on paper, especially with West Brom having a financial situation that is far from stable.
But if a deal can be found to make it permanent and not plunge us into further trouble with funds, then it could be a shrewd bit of business and a fine signing to help boost the club towards a promotion push in the second half of the season.
In other West Brom news, Celtic accepted an offer from the Baggies for this January signing.
