Ex-Wolves star Matt Jarvis reacts as West Brom defender Martin Kelly joins Wigan Atheltic on loan

West Brom defender Martin Kelly has joined Wigan Atheltic on loan for the rest of the season.

The 32-year-old former Liverpool defender has badly struggled at the Hawthorns, making only six appearances this season, and the club decided to let him go on loan.

Kelly took to Instagram to share that he is really happy to join the Latics. Matt Jarvis, a former Wolves player, reacted to his post with a fire and a clap emoji.

“Wishing West Brom the very best for the rest of the season. Happy to join the Latics on loan for the rest of 22/23 season. Really looking forward getting out there and enjoying the game I love,” he wrote on Instagram.

January window

All eyes will be on West Brom’s transfer activity on the deadline day as the club looking to sign one or two players.

Carlos Corberan has done a tremendous job at the club, but he needs support.

The club need to add one or two players that can give them an extra edge in the battle for promotion.

Bolstering the midfield seems a priority for the Spaniard.

The Baggies have been linked with Fulham midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah, and let’s hope they can get the deal done.

The Athletic reported on 30 January that the 28-year-old is currently in talks over a potential move. The Hammers initially wanted to sign him on loan, but now they’re aiming for a permanent deal.

The Baggies were linked with a move for Lewis O’Brien but he is heading towards Sheffield United instead.

Another player who could join is Aston Villa midfielder Marvelous Nakamba [Express and Sport] who hasn’t played a single game this season so far.

In other West Brom news, Celtic accepted an offer from the Baggies for this January signing.
