West Brom in talks to sign Nathaniel Chalobah permanently from Fulham before deadline
West Brom are in talks with Fulham to sign Nathaniel Chalobah before Tuesday’s (31 January) deadline, according to The Athletic.
The Baggies are desperate to land one midfielder before tomorrow’s deadline, and talks are progressing positively to sign the 28-year-old former Chelsea player.
Initially, talks were held around a possible loan with an option to buy, but now the Baggies are looking to agree a “permanent move” for the midfielder.

Superb
It will be a fantastic effort if the club can sign him before tomorrow’s deadline.
Chalobah is an experienced midfielder who has won promotion twice in his career, and he can play an instrumental role in helping the club reach their target.
He has made only four appearances for Fulham in the Premier League this season, and the club are ready to let him go permanently.
Chalobah was signed on deadline day in the summer of 2021 on a free transfer from Watford and played a crucial role in taking the club to the Premier League.

Express and Star report on 30 January that West Brom are also keen to sign Aston Villa midfielder Marvelous Nakamba, but Chalobah would be a better signing.
Ideally, if the Baggies can get both of them, it would be a terrific end to the window. The squad will get the necessary boost to challenge for promotion.
In other West Brom news, Celtic accepted an offer from the Baggies for this January signing.
