Dharmesh Sheth shares ‘low fee’ update as West Brom complete Nathaniel Chalobah deal
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has revealed Nathaniel Chalobah has joined West Brom for a “low fee” as the 28-year-old completed his move to The Hawthorns.
The Baggies completed the signing of the former Fulham midfielder on an 18-month contract until the summer of 2024.
Sheth has since claimed the Baggies have paid a minimal fee for the former Chelsea man, who had fallen out of favour at Craven Cottage.

“Nathaniel Chalobah has joined West Bromwich Albion on an 18-month permanent move. And that is for a low fee, is what I was quoted,” said the Sky Sports reporter (5:47pm, Sky Sports News, 31 January).
Good depth
This is an intelligent signing from Carlos Corberan and certainly adds some much-needed depth to his midfield options. Chalobah has been around the block and knows what the Championship is about.
As the season carries on injuries and fatigue will play a part and it’s crucial Corberan rotates his squad from time to time. Okay Yokuslu and Jayson Molumby have been immense of late, but competition for places is certainly not a bad thing for the Baggies.

It seems like Chalobah will be the only piece of business the Baggies complete on deadline day, with Corberan’s squad in a good place at the moment. Their performances have been impressive, particularly in the league, and fine-tuning his current options was always going to be the priority.
If another player was to arrive, potentially another loan player in an attacking position could be something for the West Brom boss to consider. However, at the moment, we won’t be holding out breath.
