Marc Albrighton arrives in West Midlands for last-minute West Brom loan talks – Julian Warren

Leicester City winger Marc Albrighton has arrived at the West Brom training ground ahead of joining on loan for the rest of the season, according to Sky Sports.

Julian Warren reports that the 33-year-old is in last-minute talks about a temporary move to The Hawthorns.

It is understood that the deal doesn’t mean Albrighton’s time at the King Power is over and that the ex-Aston Villa player just wants to be playing more regularly.

“He is in the West Midlands and he’s having chats with West Brom about a last-minute loan deal,” said Julian Warren on Sky Sports News (31 January, 21:38pm).

He added: “I’ve been told it’s his choice to leave at this point but his Leicester contract runs until the summer of 2024.

“It’s not the end of his Leicester career at this point but he wants to be playing football and that could be at West Brom for the rest of the season.”

Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett added on Twitter that Albrighton is at the Baggies training ground.

Last-gasp deal

Let’s hope West Brom don’t repeat their mistakes from the summer by botching the submission of paperwork.

Steve Bruce missed out on signing Josh Onomah from Fulham in the summer even though he’d arrived at the training ground in Great Barr.

He must’ve been gutted, as would have been Bruce, who will no doubt use that issue as a reason why he failed so badly at The Hawthorns.

Carlos Corberan is doing a terrific job right now and signing Albrighton is a great way for him to end the January transfer window.

It’s great to know that Albrighton is just eager to play football as that means he’ll be chomping at the bit to get on the pitch, impress and help guide the Albion back to the Premier League.

The Tamworth-residing winger may be more associated with the claret and blue side of the West Midlands but we’re sure he’ll be a hit in blue and white stripes for King Carlos.
