Nathaniel Chalobah undergoing medical now ahead of permanent West Brom transfer

Nathaniel Chalobah is currently undergoing a medical with West Brom ahead of a permanent transfer on deadline day, according to Elias Burke.

The Baggies have been looking to add more depth to their squad ahead of a promotion chase, following Carlos Corberan’s incredible revival since taking over from Steve Bruce.

And a deal has now been agreed between West Brom and Premier League club Fulham for 28-year-old midfielder Chalobah, with a medical underway ahead of a deal being confirmed.

“Nathaniel Chalobah is undergoing medical at West Brom,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account (31 January).

“28 y/o midfielder close to completing a permanent transfer from Fulham. Made 4 appearances in the Premier League this season.”

Excellent

Midfield has been a problem position for a little while for West Brom, especially in the more defensive side of things.

Jake Livermore has been shocking for a while and fans will be delighted that he is now likely to drop further down the pecking order, while Okay Yokuslu now has great support alongside him and Jayson Molumby has more competition.

That should provide more freedom for the likes of John Swift, Jed Wallace and Tom Rogic to shine in a more advanced role, and that can help to unlock more goals for the second half of the season.

Chalobah brings fantastic experience and knows all about the Championship, having been promoted to the Premier League twice before.

He’ll be hungry to succeed again and prove himself, and now West Brom have strengthened with a great value deal. It’s win-win for everybody and fans can be excited for the playoff push in the second half of the campaign.
