West Brom make another offer for Nathaniel Chalobah transfer on deadline day
West Brom have tabled another bid on transfer deadline day for Fulham midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah, according to Birmingham Live.
Having already been knocked back once in their attempts to prize Chalobah away from Craven Cottage the Baggies are hoping for a different outcome this time around.
The report claims should the Albion finalise a deal with Chalobah, they will assess whether or not they can afford to bring in a temporary replacement for injured winger Matt Phillips.

“Having already been knocked back by Fulham in their pursuit of Nathaniel Chalobah, Albion have returned to that situation with another offer,” as quoted by Birmingham Live. (31 January)
“The original offer wasn’t for a loan, but an 18-month deal. Teammate Josh Onomah, who was all set to join Albion last summer before the move fell through at the death, is also speaking to Fulham about cancelling his contract with them.
“Beyond that, and should Albion strike an agreement with Fulham for Chalobah, or Aston Villa for Marvelous Nakamba – the Zimbabwe international is of interest and free to leave Villa Park – then they will assess their options and look at whether they can afford to replace the injured Phillips with another temporary winger loan option.”

Time will tell.
Time will tell whether or not the Baggies get any deadline deals over the line but it may be a tough ask with the club’s current financial constraints.
Albion are in the hunt for a Play-Off spot, something that would only be helped by any new signings made today, it could be a crucial turning point in the campaign.
Carlos Corberan has remained patient with the task at hand so far and evidently looking to bolster his engine room with the acquisition of Chalobah.
The Albion’s midfield are currently heavily reliant on Jayson Molumby and Okay Yokuslu and they could use some help in the harsh and hectic Championship season.
Chalobah would definitely provide this and whilst he likely wouldn’t be a starter week in and week out for the Baggies he could definitely be a useful cog for Corberan to utilise.
Hopefully, West Brom can get this one signed, sealed and over the line, it would be a risky move to head into the second half of the season with no new incomings.
In other West Brom news, Celtic have accepted an offer from the Baggies for this January signing.
