West Brom submit late loan bid to sign Marc Albrighton on loan from Leicester City

West Brom have made a last-ditch loan bid to sign Marc Albrighton from Leicester City, according to Telegraph journalist Sam Wallace.

Writing via his personal Twitter account at 8:50pm on deadline day (31 January) – just over two hours before the transfer cut-off – Wallace reported that Albion have made a late move for the 33-year-old winger.

It is understood that West Brom are also working on a deal to sign young Chelsea attacker Omari Hutchison.

What a day

Kenneth Zohore and Karlan Grant are being booted out the door and Albrighton, Hutchinson and Nathaniel Chalobah are all being signed?

Happy days.

While it doesn’t cover up the misery caused by Guochuan Lai’s behind-the-scenes business at The Hawthorns, a good end to the January transfer window is just what Albion need to keep the ball rolling.

Carlos Corberan has done a phenomenal job since replacing Steve Bruce as manager.

He’s turned a relegation battle into a promotion push at the drop of a hat and signing players with the experience of Albrighton is only going to help things.

West Brom

The former Aston Villa winger has 310 Premier League appearances to his name from his time at the King Power and at Villa Park, winning the league title with the Foxes in 2016.

Albrighton scored in his last Premier League outing for Leicester, scoring as a substitute in their 2-2 draw with Brighton on 21 January.

He’ll be an excellent loan addition.

Let’s just hope there are no late cock-ups with paperwork.
