Jamie Vardy sends four-word message to Marc Albrighton as Leicester ace seals West Brom loan on deadline day

Jamie Vardy has sent his best wishes to Marc Albrighton after the Leicester City winger secured a deadline-day loan move to West Brom on Tuesday night.

Albion announced after the 11pm deadline on 31 January that they had signed the 33-year-old ex-Aston Villa player on a temporary basis.

On Wednesday (1 February), Albrighton’s Leicester teammate Vardy took to Instagram to react to the Baggies’ loan deal, revealing his nickname for the new Hawthorns loanee.

“All the best, Kevin,” said Vardy via his personal Instagram account.

Scourge of The Woodman Corner

Vardy is now Leicester’s only remaining player from the 2015/16 title-winning side, albeit on a temporary basis.

Albrighton’s contract at the King Power doesn’t expire until the end of next season but the 33-year-old Tamworth native has really struggled for game-time this season in the East Midlands.

He’s played just 11 times in all competitions and started just once in the Premier League.

Albrighton showed that he still has the magic touch about him in his most-recent league outing for the Foxes, scoring in their 2-2 draw against Brighton on 21 January.

But Albrighton wants to be playing football and at The Hawthorns, he’ll more than likely have that with West Brom’s Matt Phillips set to miss the rest of the season.

Albrighton is Leicester’s vice-captain, he’s a local lad and he has bags of Premier League experience.

What’s not to like about this deal? It could lead to a permanent one in the summer if all goes well.

In other West Brom news, Albion pulled the plug on a late loan signing on deadline day.
