West Brom loan exit for Karlan Grant collapses at last minute on deadline day
Karlan Grant’s proposed loan move to Swansea from West Brom was called off at the last minute on deadline day, according to journalist Ian Mitchelmore.
The striker was poised to join the Swans in a deadline switch, however, paperwork for the deal wasn’t completed before the 11 PM deadline.
Wales Online reported that the two clubs were even said to have made contact with each other over what time they should announce the deal of Grant to take place.
“Breaking: Karlan Grant’s loan move to Swansea from West Brom is off,” said Mitchelmore on Twitter. (31 January, 11:42 PM)
“Absolute shambles.”

Twists and turns.
It was a busy day full of twists and turns for the Baggies so it comes as no surprise that Grant’s proposed move fell through the cracks last minute.
Carlos Corberan’s side made a late move for Chelsea starlet Omari Hutchinson but this fell through, something which likely affected Grant’s exit.
Grant netted 18 goals in the Championship last season but has failed to make a dint in Corberan’s side with Brandon Thomas-Asante and Daryl Dike being the Spaniards’ preferred options up top.
Nevertheless, Nathaniel Chalobah came into the Albion ranks from Fulham and this is a move that bolsters the West Brom engine room massively.
With financial constraints evidently burdening the team this month, it was nice to see at least one signing get over the line, especially in a position where support is needed.
Corberan will now just have to hope that the options he already has at his disposal are enough to get the Baggies promoted back to the Premier League.
In other West Brom news, permanent deal not ruled out as club locked in talks for last-ditch signing.
