West Brom player ratings v Coventry City as Corberan cruises to Friday night win
Carlos Corberan and his West Brom side welcomed Coventry City to The Hawthorns on 3 February for a Friday night Championship clash.
Corberan and the Baggies were knocked out of the FA Cup in their last game against Bristol City in a bruising 3-0 defeat but bounced back with a comfortable 1-0 win over the Sky Blues.
West Brom News rated the players out of 10 below…

David Button – 6
Didn’t have much to do on the night with the relentless press of the Albion keeping Coventry City at bay for a majority of the evening, nevertheless, Button still kept a clean sheet.
Darnell Furlong – 6
Furlong’s throw-in scored havoc in the Coventry penalty area for the Baggies’ first goal of the night, it’s been a while since fans had seen that from the defender and it’s certainly been missed.
Dara O’Shea – 6
O’Shea has become a mainstay in the West Brom side this season with the armband and does little to nothing wrong yet again, he bounced back from a mixed bag against Bristol City with an easygoing defensive display this evening.
Eric Pieters – 7
Showed all of his experience against the classy Viktor Gyökeres and constantly got the better of the in-form striker throughout the fixture, one of the better performances from Pieters in the Albion strip.
Conor Townsend – 7
Great effort from Townsend in the game who kept up a relentless pace throughout the night, he linked up well with new boy Albrighton in what was his 150th game for the club.

Jayson Molumby – 6
Did a lot of the dirty work for the Albion, which does go unnoticed a lot of the time, however, it’s something that Corberan’s side needs to press.
Okay Yokuslu – 7
Yokuslu was back to his very best after an absolute stinker against Bristol City in the FA Cup. Spraying passes across the pitch with ease and making every crucial tackle possible, it’s hard not to love this man.
Marc Albrighton – 9
Albrighton got off to an absolute flyer on his debut at The Hawthorns almost instantly providing a delicate chip into the box for Dike to nearly finish off. Didn’t put a foot wrong all evening and has slotted into this Albion setup with absolute ease. He’s our man of the match.
Jed Wallace – 8
Wallace struck up an instant rapport with Albrighton and this is something the Albion could profit from in the second half of the season. Another classy display from the wide man who has become a pivotal cog in Corberan’s set up this campaign.

Grady Diangana – 7
Grabbed the Baggies’ opener on the night and his fourth of the season so far, after some terrific and relentless attacking play in the first half of play. His first-half strike sealed the fate of the game.
Daryl Dike – 4
Dike had a host of quality balls put into the box and should have had no complaints over the course of his evening, he’ll be disappointed this evening that he didn’t put one of them into the back of the net. Got taken off in the 58th minute for Thomas-Asante.
Thomas Asante (on for Dike 58′) – 5
Nathaniel Chalobah (on for Yokuslu 66′) – 6
John Swift (on for Albrighton 77′) – 5
In other West Brom news, Albion pulled the plug on a late loan signing on deadline day.
