Andrea Radrizzani likes Carlos Corberan, West Brom manager would be keen on Leeds United job

Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani is a fan of West Brom boss Carlos Corberan and the Spaniard would be keen on a return to Elland Road, according to the Daily Mail.

The former Huddersfield Town and Olympiakos manager has been strongly linked [Sky Sports, 7 February] with the vacant managerial post at Leeds, following the sacking of manager Jesse Marsch on Monday [6 February].

Reports in the Daily Mail [7 February] suggested that Corberan is considering leaving the West Midlands and returning to Elland Road where he worked under Marcelo Bielsa.

And now latest developments have emerged from the Daily Mail [7 February] suggesting that the Whites are hoping to make an appointment by Sunday when they take on Manchester United at Elland Road.

Leeds chairman is reportedly a big fan of Corberan according to the report and the Baggies boss would be keen on a switch back to West Yorkshire.

Worrying news

Considering the tremendous job Corberan has currently undergone at the Hawthorns since his appointment in October, this really isn’t great news for the Baggies faithful and the club as a whole.

All their great work, progress and improvement under the Spaniard over the past few months could well become undone if Corberan decides to leave to replace Marsch.

West Brom

The former Olympiakos coach has won 11 of his 16 games in charge, driving the Baggies from the relegation spots to playoff contention in so little time, and it will be incredibly difficult for the club hierarchy to find a manager capable of continuing that stark progression in the coming weeks.

Reports have emerged [7 January] of a return to the club for former boss Darren Moore who is doing a tremendous job over at Sheffield Wednesday, and while he represents a very sensible and safe replacement, it’s unlikely he’ll be looking to jump ship at such a crucial stage in their season as they seek a swift return to the Championship next season.

Whatever ways the Baggies can convince Corberan to stay, the club hierarchy must locate it and fast.

In other West Brom news, a defender may never feature for the club again after what happened recently and may even leave for free.
