Neil Warnock: West Brom manager Carlos Corberan should reject Leeds United approaches
Neil Warnock believes West Brom manager Carlos Corberan should reject any Leeds United approach for him to replace Jesse Marsch at Elland Road, he told talkSPORT.
The Whites’ American manager was relieved of his duties on Monday afternoon, and Corberan was quickly labelled the immediate frontrunner to become his successor. [90min, 6 February]
The 39-year-old has enhanced his managerial resume after masterminding a remarkable turnaround in the West Midlands, which now sees them sitting within the play-off promotion places.

After being at the Hawthorns for just under five months, former Premier League manager Warnock has admitted he thinks the Baggies boss should turn down the approaches and continue his fine work in the Championship.
He told talkSPORT on Tuesday morning (7 February, 8:15 am): “I think Carlos should stay where he is, where he’s doing well. They have a decent squad, and I don’t think he’s managed anywhere like Leeds.
“Yes, he’s managed under Bielsa, and he had a coaching role, but that’s different to managing them. I don’t think it would work if he came back.
“He should just enjoy what he’s doing now, and they have a good job at West Brom.”

There is never a quiet week at West Brom football club is there.
Just as things started to settle down at the Hawthorns, and it looked like the club were readying themselves for a proper promotion showdown in the coming months, these links had to surface.
Corberan has single-handedly saved the Baggies from turmoil this season following the dire reign of Steve Bruce. Having inherited a squad who were out of confidence and sitting on the precipice of the relegation zone, the Spaniard took things back to basics and got the team playing proper football again.
Unfortunately, his previous time spent coaching under Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road will make the opportunity an exciting prospect, and West Brom can probably do little to stand in his way.
It will come down to Corberan and whether he wants to successfully complete a remarkable season at the Hawthorns or if the Leeds project will just prove too lucrative to turn down.
In other West Brom news, a defender may never feature for the club again after what happened recently and may even leave for free.
