Carlos Corberan has landed higher buy-out clause at West Brom
Carlos Corberan has landed a substantial pay rise and a much higher buy-out clause at West Brom after he signed a new contract that runs until 2027, according to the Daily Mail.
Leeds United considered Corberan as an option after they sacked Jesse Marsch following a poor run of results. The senior figures at the club even held tentative discussions to offer him an 18-month contract.
However, Corberan has committed his future at the Hawthorns, with Ron Gourlay rushing through a new contract. He could join Leeds someday in the future, but the Baggies can breathe a sigh of relief that he is not going anywhere at the moment.

Commitment
West Brom would not have been in the position where they are right now had it been not for Corberan.
When the Spaniard took charge of the club from Steve Bruce, the Baggies were sinking without a trace, and nobody expected a dramatic turnaround like this way.
He injected belief and confidence into the team, and now the Baggies are aiming for promotion. His departure from the club would have been a hammer blow to their promotion hopes.

Now, managers in the past have traded this opportunity without blinking an eye. It’s hard to reject an offer from a club like Leeds, especially a club Corberan knows very well. He is well aware that Leeds hierarchy admires him, and that he would get a warm reception from the fans.
But, Corberan has taken a bold step. After doing all the hard work here, it would have been a real shame had he left the club at the first opportunity. Gourlay and the Baggies board have made some poor decisions in the past, including the appointment of Bruce, but on this occasion, it was necessary for them to keep hold of the manager.
No matter how you spin it, this is an important achievement from the club, and the financial reward for Corberan has come with it naturally.
