Carlos Corberan teases changes after West Brom lose ground in Championship promotion race
Carlos Corberan has said he and his staff will analyse why his West Brom side didn’t perform well during their disappointing 2-0 defeat to local rivals Birmingham City on Friday evening (10 February).
The defeat comes just days after the Spaniard signed a new contract at the Hawthorns amid strong interest from former club Leeds United, with the 39-year-old looking for answers for a third defeat in four games.
Changes may now be expected with fans not happy with the way the Albion seemed to capitulate in one of the biggest rivalries on offer this season.

Speaking via the Express and Star, Corberan made it clear that he was going to dissect every last angle of what happened in the derby day nightmare.
“We are going to analyse collectively why we didn’t perform well and we will analyse individually which players performed well and which players didn’t,” he said.

Poor.
Corberan certainly won’t have been impressed with the manner of the goals his side conceded which handed Birmingham just a second league win since mid-December, as stand-in goalkeeper David Button was caught out by a near-post free-kick before the 33-year-old failed to claim a second-half corner.
Button has largely played second fiddle to Alex Palmer this season, but was thrust into the spotlight following an injury to the regular No.1 in training which is set to see him sidelined for up to six weeks.
In the meantime, Corberan could be tempted to turn to Josh Griffiths in between the sticks, as the 21-year-old was recalled from a loan spell with League One side Portsmouth in January in order for him to train in a different style of play to Pompey’s.
But it is doubtful that the academy graduate will get a run in a first-team following a difficult six-month period on the south coast in the division below, with Button more likely to continue as the regular stand-in with the transfer window now shut.
The Baggies will continue their push toward the playoffs on Wednesday evening, (15 February) when they take on fellow promotion hopefuls Blackburn Rovers at The Hawthorns.
In other West Brom news, Corberan opened up on the future of Karlan Grant after his Swansea January transfer collapsed on deadline day.
