Blackburn Rovers suffer fresh blow ahead of West Brom Championship clash

Blackburn Rovers are set to be without goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski for their trip to The Hawthorns to face West Brom on Wednesday evening.

The 30-year-old has been an ever-present in goal for Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side but has recently undergone surgery on a knee issue after missing Rovers’ past two games (Lancs Live, 14 February).

The Lancashire side will also be without Daniel Ayala for their trip to the West Midlands. However, Dom Hyam and Callum Brittain will both travel with the side after recovering from their respective injuries.

Back on track

Carlos Corberan will be desperate for the Baggies to get their playoff push back on track on Wednesday evening (15 February). The defeat against Birmingham was a tough one to take and the links to the Leeds United job wouldn’t have helped the Spaniard’s preparation.

Rovers are just one place and one point above Albion and this could well be a vital moment in their season. A win will more than likely propel West Brom back into the top six, however, a defeat could see a gap begin to emerge. Corberan’s side have responded well to previous setbacks and they will be hoping their impressive home form will get them over the line.

West Brom

There’s a long way to go in the 2022/23 campaign and a lot of points to play for, but beating direct rivals is a must. The Spaniard has worked wonders since his arrival and he will once again be looking for another clean-sheet victory at The Hawthorns.

In other West Brom news, Corberan opened up on the future of Karlan Grant after his Swansea January transfer collapsed on deadline day.
