Carlos Corberan shares injury update after Nathaniel Chalobah forced off injured in West Bromwich Albion draw v Blackburn
Carlos Corberan is confident that Nathaniel Chalobah will be okay despite being forced off injured as West Brom were held to a draw by Blackburn.
The Baggies conceded a late free-kick to drop their lead after Jayson Molumby had given the side a lead in the second half, with the Ireland international coming on to replace the injured Chalobah just after the break.
But manager Corberan has moved to settle the nerves of fans after the January signing was forced off, saying it was just a kick and the hope is that it isn’t a proper injury.

“I didn’t talk with the doctor at the end, but it doesn’t look like an injury,” Corberan said, as quoted by Birmingham Live (16 February).
“He received a kick and it was on the nerve.
“He couldn’t find the mobility, and he was having a pain which didn’t allow him to keep going.”
Phew
The Baggies moved quickly during the January window to secure Chalobah’s signature, adding Premier League and Championship experience to the squad in a position where we’re lacking serious options.
It’s taken him a while to get fit since signing, but his start was a decent performance before he was forced off after getting his kick.

His quality on the ball and ability to read the game provide a picture-perfect combination in midfield alongside Okay Yokuslu, and that could be a key partnership that will help us get into the playoffs and eventually the Premier League.
After an initial really good run under Corberan, they now have just one win in their last five in all competitions and have slipped down the table into tenth place, two points below the playoff spots.
With Chalobah fit and available the chances of picking up results will improve, so it can only be a positive thing that he is likely to be okay for the upcoming games.
In other West Brom news, Josh Griffiths is not the long term answer in goal and we need Alex Palmer back.
