Sky Sports pundit David Prutton predicts West Brom vs Watford result amid faltering form
David Prutton has predicted West Brom to suffer more frustration when they face Watford on Monday night with a second consecutive draw.
After the disappointment of a derby defeat to Birmingham Carlos Corberan’s side were within minutes of recording a tight victory over Blackburn on Wednesday (15 February) before Ben Brereton Diaz’s late free kick shared the points.
The two matches without a win has seen the Baggies slip to 10th in their bid to land a play-off place, and Prutton believes that objective will suffer another blow at Vicarage Road on Monday night (20 February) with a 2-2 draw.

In his Sky Sports predictions column Prutton said: “What a blow for Watford with how they lost that lead late on at Burnley. It will almost have felt worse than a defeat, even if it was a game they would have gone into without expecting much.
“West Brom have had a frustrating week. Losing at Birmingham, then throwing away a late lead themselves at home to Blackburn. Can they get back on the horse on Monday night? I only see them getting a point.”

It may be no coincidence that it has come off the back of the unsettling situation the club and manager went through when Corberan was heavily linked with the Leeds United job but the promotion push is faltering slightly.
Part of the strength of the Spaniard’s reign has been the ability to bounce back from a negative result quickly, and while he almost saw his side do that again this week it is now five dropped points in quick succession.
The Hornets’ form has slumped to an even greater degree though, with the club unable to win in the league for five matches, and although they are currently sixth they have played more games than most of the teams around them.

Victory for the Albion would see them overtake their opponents, and with the pack of clubs looking to squeeze into the play-offs at the end of the season so tight every result makes a big difference.
Take the three points and it will reassure everyone that the uncertainty around Leeds, prior to the new contract announcement for the manager, was just a momentary distraction.
But fail to do so and there could be some edgy Baggies fans starting to wonder whether it might have derailed what looked like an unstoppable advance since Corberan’s October arrival.
