West Brom injury news as Grady Diangana could miss entire season

Express and Star journalist Lewis Cox has shared on Twitter that West Brom ace Grady Diangana could miss the rest of the season in a “big blow” to the Baggies campaign.

Cox confessed that Brandon Thomas-Asante will also be out for the Friday night clash against Hull City and may potentially miss the 7 March fixture against Wigan.

This wasn’t the only misery Cox provided fans with, also admitting that Karlan Grant’s injury is expected to keep him out for 4-6 weeks alongside an illness to Jake Livermore.

“Been to Albion and it’s a big blow. Brandon Thomas-Asante (hamstring) misses tomorrow and poss next week too,” said Cox on Twitter. (2 March, 2:53 PM)

“Grady Diangana (foot ligaments) could face surgery, which would end season. Hope is only weeks. Karlan Grant (quad) 4-6 weeks. Jake Livermore is ill.”

West Brom

Painful.

With Premier League promotion essential in the Baggies’ bid to restore some normality to their club, this quadruple injury blow couldn’t have come at a worse time.

Will Carlos Corberan even be able to fill his bench at this point? Will the club have to dip into the free-agent market? Potentially if Diangana’s injury is season-ending.

If not West Brom may have to turn to some of the youngsters in the squad, hardly what you want when you’re striving for Premier League promotion.

A lot of pressure will now be on the shoulders of Daryl Dike to come up trumps for West Brom in the coming weeks with Thomas-Asante’s injury too.

The American shined bright against Middlesbrough on 26 February, bagging twice for the Albion and more of these exploits will be needed to ease injury fears.

Nevertheless, it’s hard to sugarcoat just how detrimental these injury blows could be to Corberan and his West Brom squad for the hopes and dreams of their season.

In other West Brom news, the fans are demanding a meeting with the owner as questions about a £5m loan refuse to go away.
