West Brom in serious bother as Guochuan Lai trouble continues at The Hawthorns
West Brom are said to be in “serious bother” as their troubles under the ownership of Guochuan Lai continue to escalate at The Hawthorns with more protests, according to Irvine Welsh.
The Trainspotting author shared his claim after what he had heard from those close to him.
Lai has been the centre of protests for a considerable time now, with football clubs urged to support the supporters as he continues to drive the Baggies into the ground.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Welsh shared what he has heard regarding the trouble coming from The Hawthorns that is boiling over yet again.
“Hearing from a mate that West Brom are in serious bother,” he wrote.
“It seems the old/new story of absentee owners looting a club by cashing in its assets. All football fans should support the supporters – could be our clubs next.”

Serious.
Things are very quickly getting catastrophic at The Hawthorns.
What makes it even worst is that there is absolutely nothing that anyone can do, with the EFL powerless in this situation as West Brom, the club, are nothing but helpless.
Finance expert Dan Plumley recently told West Brom News that in his legal understanding, the EFL can’t actually do anything as Lai is still in control of the club.
With his £5million loan still not being repaid and another £20million taken from MSD Holdings this season, the club has some serious financial issues, not to mention just his running of the club alone.
Unless a saviour comes along soon, we could all be staring down the barrel.
The Athletic did report on 6 March that the Baggies are open to outside investment or even a full takeover, with everyone reading that surely jumping for joy.
It may yet be false hope though, with caution always advised at The Hawthorns.
In other West Brom news, a defender may never feature for the club again after what happened and may even leave for free.
