Neil Warnock complains about Huddersfield incident v West Brom after defeat at The Hawthorns
Neil Warnock has been left seething at the “lazy” Huddersfield play that gave away a penalty to West Brom in the Albion’s 1-0 win at The Hawthorns on 11 March.
John Swift converted the match-winning penalty in the 30th minute of the game, one which handed West Brom back-to-back 1-0 wins.
Warnock confessed that he was left “disappointed” by Matty Pearson’s sloppy challenge on Conor Townsend which led to the penalty being awarded.

“I am disappointed. The penalty is such a sloppy and lazy one,” said Warnock as quoted by htafc.com. (12 March)
“We’ve lost a game with all that effort because of a penalty, so it’s [disappointing] on our way home.”

Fortress.
The Baggies picked up their tenth home win in 11 home games under Carlos Corberan and now sit just three points off the play-off positions in the Championship table.
Cutting edge in the final third was again causing a nuisance for the Albion and fans were left frustrated with the chances going to waste early on at The Hawthorns.
Nevertheless, the Swift penalty sealed the points for West Brom on the day and after a sticky patch of form, back-to-back wins are all that really matters right now.
Dara O’Shea was a stand-out performer for West Brom on Saturday afternoon and consistently won his battles and aerial duels with relative ease.
However, every Albion player pretty much put in a solid performance for Corberan and this team are starting to look like real promotion contenders.
There is still a long way to go, with plenty of twists and turns along the way, but The Hawthorns faithful will be quietly confident that their team can ruffle some feathers into the final part of the campaign.
