Adam Reach to be axed, Marc Albrighton to start – West Brom predicted XI v Cardiff City

Carlos Corberan is unlikely to make too many changes to his West Brom starting lineup for their Championship clash with Cardiff on Wednesday (15 March).

The Baggies made it consecutive 1-0 wins at the weekend by defeating Huddersfield at The Hawthorns, moving themselves to just three points off the playoff places with ten games remaining of the season.

And now West Brom will look to continue their push up the table when they take on Cardiff at the Cardiff City Stadium, but the manager must make several decisions on his starting lineup for the game.

In goal the boss has stuck with Josh Griffiths as his goalkeeper with Alex Palmer out injured, and he has performed well with consecutive clean sheets recently and should keep his place in the side.

The back four essentially picks itself currently, with Darnell Furlong and Connor Townsend securing the full-back positions for themselves while Dara O’Shea and Erik Pieters have formed a solid partnership in the middle.

Kyle Bartley remains out injured, and Semi Ajayi remains out of favour due to their performances and the defence is likely to be unchanged.

In midfield it’s a similar situation with Jake Livermore out injured and Nathaniel Chalobah not quite up to speed with his performances, allowing Jayson Molumby and Okay Yokuslu to form a solid partnership in the hub of the side to help control games and be defensively solid.

In attack Corberan has got several options out injured, with all of Brandon Thomas-Asante, Karlan Grant, Matty Phillips and Grady Diangana all likely to miss out.

That should allow player of the season so far Jed Wallace to continue on the right-wing where he has shone in this campaign with five goals and seven assists so far, plus plenty of top performances to go alongside it.

In the number ten role John Swift has had an excellent debut campaign at The Hawthorns and his winning goal at the weekend from the penalty spot should be enough to keep him in the starting line-up.

Adam Reach started on the left at the weekend but he didn’t have the best of games and could find himself as the man to miss out, with January signing Marc Albrighton to come back into the side in his place.

Up front Daryl Dike has been in good form in recent weeks, and the USMNT international will look to add to his six goals so far in this campaign.
