West Brom confirmed XI vs Cardiff: Semi Ajayi starts in two changes, Brandon Thomas-Asante makes bench

West Brom have confirmed their starting XI for the Championship meeting with Cardiff at Cardiff City Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Carlos Corberan has named two changes from the side that defeated Huddersfield on Saturday (11 March), with Semi Ajayi and Marc Albrighton coming in for Darnell Furlong and Adam Reach respectively.

Daryl Dike continues to lead the line, with the striker on three goals from his last four games while Brandon Thomas-Asante has returned from injury to make Corberan’s bench.

Time for consistency

West Brom are just four points off the Championship play-off positions, but will be taking nothing for granted on their trip to South Wales, despite their opponents struggling in 21st place.

The two clubs played out a 0-0 stalemate at The Hawthorns back in August 2022, and even though the Albion are away from home this time around, they will view the match in South Wales as a must-win in their push for promotion.

The visitors will be desperate for some consistency in the run-in to the end of the season, having won five, drawn one and lost four of their last 10 league matches.

West Brom clinched 1-0 wins against both Wigan and Huddersfield in their last two matches, and there is no reason why they cannot make it three on the bounce in Cardiff, with Corberan’s only wish other than the three points perhaps focusing on more goals scored.

In other West Brom news, Dara O’Shea has revealed how important the Albion fans are ahead of the club’s final 10 matches of the Championship season.
