Millwall set for injury boost as pair in contention for showdown v West Brom – journalist
Millwall duo Billy Mitchell and Tyler Burey are in contention to return from injury and feature against West Brom in the Championship on Saturday (1 April), according to News At Den journalist Alex Jones.
The London club currently occupy the much-coveted sixth spot in the Championship table, with Carlos Corberan’s side hot on their heels, three places and five points behind the Lions.
With nine games of this Championship season remaining, the encounter at the Hawthorns could go a long way to deciding both clubs’ fates at the end of the season.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday (28 March), Jones shared that defensive midfielder Mitchell and centre-forward Burey could be ready to mark their returns from the sidelines for Gary Rowett’s team this weekend.
He wrote: “Billy Mitchell and Tyler Burey are in contention to feature against West Brom after returning to training, but both will be assessed later this week.
“Mason Bennett unlikely to feature but set to return to training imminently.”
Huge implications
West Brom’s Championship season could well hinge on this one game.
With the Baggies currently sitting five points off their weekend opponents, a loss could spell the end of their playoff ambitions. If Corberan’s side were eight points behind the top six with as many games to play, it would take something remarkable to force their way into contention.
However, if they manage to continue their stunning home form at The Hawthorns, the hunt is back on, and every playoff hopeful will be looking precariously over their shoulders at West Brom.
Millwall’s injury boosts ahead of the game isn’t the best news for Corberan, but on their day, Albion can blow any team in the division out of the water.
The likes of Daryl Dike and Dara O’Shea have often looked a cut above their Championship opponents this season and are the calibre of player who could make the step up to Premier League football.
The homes faithful are likely to be in full voice for this season-defining match, and hopefully, Corberan’s side can oblige to their wishes.
