West Brom due to release financial accounts before end of 31 March amid rising tensions

West Brom are set to release their financial accounts before the end of 31 March, according to the official Companies House website.

The next accounts made up to 30 June 2022 are due by 31 March 2023, with the impending announcement coming amid rising tensions at The Hawthorns.

Such tensions come due to the protests against the club’s ownership, with unpaid loans and missed deadlines hanging over West Brom controlling shareholder Guochuan Lai.

The Chinese businessman made a £200million investment in West Brom back in 2016, with supporters unhappy with the way things are being run under him.

But until a suitable offer comes in for the club, the current situation looks set to remain for the foreseeable future.

Time to go

West Brom supporters perhaps won’t know what they can expect from the impending financial results, but they may not even care, with the protests over the ownership very much at the top of their current agenda.

Of course this entails finances and so the upcoming announcement, but Baggies fans will be sick of hearing just how much financial trouble the club is in.

His £4.95million loan, taken in March 2021, and interest that has taken it to £5million has not been repaid, with that money undoubtedly better spent to reinvest in the squad in the January transfer window.

The controlling shareholder has no respect from all those connected with the Albion, who can only hope that the situation changes sooner rather than later.

Promotion back to the Premier League is on their minds right now, but it is a very difficult challenge, and one that has been made more challenging amid the current issues behind the scenes.
