Sky Sports pundit: West Brom fans can bring about boardroom changes with protests
We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…
Kevin Campbell believes that the West Brom protesters, including Action for Albion, can be successful in their efforts to bring about change at the club.
However, he feels that it would mean some of the board members turning to get the Baggies back in the right direction again.
This comes after thousands of West Brom fans were seen protesting ahead of the 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town on 11 March. [Express and Star]

A few days before that game, volunteers from the protest group Action For Albion were handing out leaflets as they were frustrated with Guochuan Lai and the financial turmoil which has been inflicted in the form of unpaid loans and borrowed funds. [Birmingham Live]
When asked about these protests, Campbell, a Sky Sports pundit, exclusively told West Brom News, “At the end of the day, fans want what they want and I think it’s going to be successful.
“It’s only gonna be successful if the powers that be allow it to be.
“Because realistically, fans pay their money but they don’t have the power to make the big decisions.
“Some of the board members have to turn, which hardly ever happens.
“But again, can it happen? Yeah, it can happen because you see and sense everybody being together in a promotion push and that can really help.
“The only problem is whether it will make a difference or not.“

On the field of play, things appear to be getting better for West Brom as they’re within touching distance from a place in the play-offs.
They sit in ninth place with 55 points and are five shy of Millwall who sit in sixth place but have played a game more than the Baggies.
Should Carlos Corberan’s side beat them on Saturday, 1 April, they will close down the gap considerably, and winning their game in hand would see them in a playoff position.
In other West Brom news, a defender may never feature for the club again after what happened and may even leave for free.
