West Brom want to sign Ireland man of the match Chiedozie Ogbene as Rotherham exit news emerges
West Brom are among the clubs keen on signing Rotherham striker Chiedozie Ogbene this summer, according to the Irish Examiner.
The 25-year-old has undergone a thrilling breakout campaign for the Championship strugglers, notching seven goals and three assists from 32 games in the English Second Division.
And his man-of-the-match display for the Republic of Ireland in their 1-0 Euro 2024 qualifying defeat to the former World Champions France on Monday [27 March] at the Aviva Stadium did little to dampen the belief that he may well be on to bigger and better things very soon.

And according to the Irish Examiner [30 March], the 25-year-old forward is expected to depart the New York Stadium this summer with West Brom among a list of clubs currently interested in his services.
Fellow Championship side Sheffield United and Belgian outfit Standard Liege are on his list of potential suitors, according to the report.
Stellar addition
When you’re an international regular making waves on the scene against some of the elite players in the world as well as impressing at club level too, for a side currently sitting in the bottom half of the Championship, you’re bound to attract plenty of interest and that is the kind of period Ogbene is enjoying right now.
The interest in his services is of no surprise and considering his tremendous emergence on the scene, there is little Rotherham can do to keep him, especially with the club currently embroiled in a relegation dogfight down at the bottom.

West Brom are reportedly in the frame for his services, and Ogbene would represent a stellar addition to Carlos Corberan’s squad right now, with the Spaniard in the hunt for attacking options this summer.
However, with Sheffield United also in the frame, it may prove difficult for the Baggies to acquire his service, especially if they don’t secure promotion to the Premier League. The Blades are all but guaranteed to which means Ogbene may well be tempted to choose them over West Brom.
And given the club’s financial plight right now, with the club potentially set to be forced in selling their major stars if they don’t secure promotion, it seems unlikely they’d be in a position to sign the talented Rotherham forward. Corberan is under pressure to ensure his side is in the promotion picture if they desire to sign top talents this summer.
In other West Brom news, this attacking duo has been named in the best English XI from the Championship this season by a stats company.
