Okay Yokuslu sends message to West Brom fans after 0-0 disappointment v Millwall

West Brom midfielder Okay Yokuslu sent a social media message to the Albion fans after their disappointing 0-0 draw against Millwall on Saturday afternoon.[1 April].

West Brom missed the chance to close the five-point gap to their south London opponents who sit comfortably in the Sky Bet Championship playoff places in what was a frustrating afternoon for Carlos Corberan and his team.

The Baggies were made to rue missed chances and poor refereeing decisions despite extending their unbeaten home run in the league and Yokuslu, who captained the team, took to his personal Twitter account to encourage the Albion support.

He tweeted:

“A privilege to wear the armband and captain West Brom this afternoon.

“Thank you for all your support, 8 games to go now. Let’s make them count.”

Blow

With the gap between the playoff place and those just outside getting bigger each week, West Brom desperately needed to send a message to their playoff rivals on Saturday but disappointingly failed to deliver.

The Hawthorns has become an absolute fortress since Corberan’s appointment at the back end of last year and the fans would have been well up for beating Millwall who have mightily impressed this season, but the Baggies players let them down.

West Brom

No wonder why Yokuslu felt he needed to send them a message on Twitter to brighten the mood, as it was a drab and disappointing performance.

Corberan’s decision to drop the in-form Daryl Dike and start Adam Reach was a very baffling one and a decision he certainly regretted at the final whistle.

In such a tightly contested playoff race, the Spaniard has got to play his best players and the fans will be hoping he’s learned a valuable lesson heading into their next game against Rotherham next Friday [7 April].

In other West Brom news, a defender may never feature for the club again after what happened and may even leave for free.
