David Prutton predicts result of West Brom clash v Rotherham in Championship for Sky Sports

David Prutton has predicted that West Brom will share the spoils with Rotherham in their upcoming Championship clash at the New York Stadium on Friday (7 April).

The Baggies arrive into the match on the back of a goalless draw against playoff rivals Millwall – a result that left Carlos Corberan’s side five points off the top-six with just eight games of the Championship season remaining.

Writing for the Sky Sports News website, Prutton predicted that West Brom would secure a 1-1 draw against The Millers, who are currently 17th and just two points above the relegation zone.

The Baggies have recently suffered some significant blows in their fight for Championship promotion following the news that Dara O’Shea is out injured for the remainder of the campaign, and Republic of Ireland compatriot Jayson Molumby is also sidelined for the foreseeable future.

Must win

Every week is a must-win game for West Brom if they still harbour ambitions of playing in the Premier League next season.

In the past two months, Corberan’s side have struggled to gain any real momentum, seemingly taking one step forward followed by two steps back.

Even after the international break, in which the club suffered a couple of crucial injury blows, the goalless draw against Millwall wasn’t what the doctor ordered.

Against a Rotherham side who are struggling for form and languishing just above the drop zone, anything other than a win will be classed as a disappointment.

However, Corberan must be wary not to get complacent ahead of this clash, with Matt Taylor and his side fighting for their lives right now and not likely to give up the fight in front of their home faithful.

Three points on Good Friday throws Albion straight back into the playoff mix, but anything else could spell another year of Championship football.

In other West Brom news, a defender may never feature for the club again after what happened and may even leave for free.
