Jamie Andrews joins West Brom squad for Championship trip to Rotherham
Rarely seen West Brom youngster Jamie Andrews is travelling with the first team squad ahead of the Baggies’ clash against Rotherham, as reported by Joe Chapman.
Carlos Corberan is without Okay Yokuslu for the fixture against the Millers after the Turkish midfielder suffered an ankle injury during Albion’s goalless draw with Millwall.
Birmingham Live’s Chapman has since revealed that 20-year-old midfielder Andrews is with the first-team squad ahead of the fixture (Personal Twitter account, 6 April).
Andrews has started just once for Corberan’s side and that came in the FA Cup draw against Chesterfield.
Big loss
Yokuslu is a huge loss and his presence will be sorely missed on Saturday (8 April). This is a game the Baggies have to be winning if they want to break into the top six, and in recent weeks they’ve struggled to put the lesser teams away.
The Millers are coming off a 0-0 draw against Hull City and will be hoping to pull further clear of the relegation zone on Saturday. As for Corberan’s men, they will be disappointed not to have beaten Millwall last time out. The game against Gary Rowett’s side was a golden opportunity to close the gap to the top six which was passed up.

West Brom cannot afford too many more mistakes heading into the run-in, with the gap to the playoff place now starting to grow slightly. Performances have plateaued slightly from when Corberan first took the reins and it’s now up to the Spaniard to rejuvenate his players heading into a crucial period.
In other West Brom news, Corberan has revealed that Dara O’Shea is likely to be ruled out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury.
