Okay Yokuslu ruled out as West Brom injury news shared

Carlos Corberan has confirmed that West Brom midfielder Okay Yokuslu will miss the club’s Championship clash against Rotherham on Friday (5 April) through injury.

As shared on the club’s website, the 29-year-old suffered an ankle injury in the goalless draw against Millwall last weekend (1 April), which left the Baggies five points off the playoff places.

Yokuslu has been an integral cog in Corberan’s remarkable transformation at The Hawthorns this season since taking the reins from Steve Bruce, with the midfielder making 34 appearances and netting three goals.

On the injury, Corberan said: “We’re not going to have Okay available for the Rotherham game.

“He suffered an ankle injury in the last few minutes of our last game against Millwall.”

Massive blow

Things seem to be going from bad to worse for West Brom right now, with this latest injury yet another blow to the club’s Championship playoff hopes.

Yokuslu has been a rock in the middle of the park for Corberan and seems to have been the one ever-present among a host of Baggies injuries.

However, Albion will now have to shuffle their troops ahead of the Good Friday clash and look to make do in his absence.

The 39-capped Turkish international adds to Corberan’s already-packed injury list.

Jayson Molumby and Dara O’Shea arrived back from the international break with injuries that could end their seasons, but Corberan did confirm that Karlan Grant and Kyle Bartley could both be ready for some Championship action following their spells on the sidelines.

Either way, Yokuslu’s injury is a bitter blow, and fans will be hoping that it won’t derail their chances of nicking promotion to the Premier League this season.

In other West Brom news, a defender may never feature for the club again after what happened and may even leave for free.
