Kyle Bartley missed West Brom 2-2 draw v Queens Park Rangers with fresh injury problem
West Brom were held to a frustrating 2-2 draw against Queens Park Rangers, with Kyle Bartley missing from the squad once again through injury.
The veteran central defender made his return to action in the 3-1 loss to Rotherham on Good Friday as a substitute and was pushing for start, but was surprisingly absent from the match-day squad for Monday’s clash with QPR.
And prior to the game it was revealed by Birmingham Mail (10 April) that the central defender picked up a new injury against Rotherham which forced him to miss out.

“Kyle Bartley, who made just his second appearance since November from the bench on Friday in the dreadful defeat at Rotherham United, misses out and is believed to have picked up a fresh injury problem,” they wrote.
Blessing in disguise?
Bartley is far from the most popular player at The Hawthorns, and it’s no shock that many were happy to see him not in the team.
Injuries are a part of the game and the team is a little bit light at the back right now with Dara O’Shea out for the rest of the season, but that shouldn’t open a door for Bartley to get back into the side.

He hasn’t been good enough for this team for a long time, and dropping down to the Championship didn’t help him at all either.
He’s way past his best and the hope is that the club will realise it in the summer and find a way for him to leave, although that currently looks quite unlikely.
