Carlos Corberan reacts after Josh Griffiths snubbed by West Brom teammates
Carlos Corberan has spoken out after Josh Griffiths appeared to be snubbed by his West Brom teammates after his error against QPR.
The young keeper made a glaring mistake to gift Gareth Ainsworth’s side an equaliser at The Hawthorns on Monday (10 April).
None of the Baggies’ players went to consol the 21-year-old and Corberan has since spoken about the incident.

“I think all the team was suffering and I didn’t see anyone with the possibility maybe supporting another one,” said Corberan (Express and Star, 13 April).
“I think the general feeling was they were disappointed with the action, they were feeling disappointed in how they were competing. Sometimes you know when you are on the pitch and you know when you are not playing well.
“Sometimes you find the solutions and sometimes you do not find (them) we need to reflect on why we are not finding them, because our responsibility is to compete better and win more football games.”
Learn from it
Considering his young age, Griffiths has had plenty of EFL experience and will learn from his mistake. He endured a tough loan spell at Portsmouth and was thrown straight into the first-team fray for Albion after Alex Palmer’s injury.
He’s been through enough during his spells at Cheltenham, Lincoln and Pompey to know that he made a blunder, whether he was consoled or not would’ve made no difference. The Baggies would’ve been disappointed to throw away a two-goal lead and that can’t all be on the 21-year-old.

Their playoff dream now hangs by a thread and a run of wins is now a requirement heading into what is the business end of the season. We often see teams make late runs for the playoffs and the Baggies will have to find their previous levels if they wish to gatecrash the top six.
After Corberan’s fantastic start at The Hawthorns, it’s extremely disappointing to see West Brom languishing in eleventh position.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies have sent scouts to track an in-demand defender who’s set to leave as they begin planning for the summer transfer window.
