West Brom defender Martin Kelly may not even be back in time for pre season – Injury Expert
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at West Brom...
West Brom right-back Martin Kelly, who has been on loan at Wigan Athletic this season, may not even be back in time for pre-season, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert believes that it is a grade 2 tear or a grade 3 one with the latter being a full rupture and the recovery even longer.
The 32-year-old went out on loan in January due to the lack of game time and did not enjoy the best of starts to his Latics career.

On his debut, he suffered a knee injury and manager Shaun Maloney claimed that he would play no further part this season as he would need surgery. [Shropshire Star]
He was even named the Man of the Match for that game but had to limp off due to his injury as to not further aggravate it.
Speaking exclusively with West Brom News about Bartley’s condition, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said, “Kelly’s injury was very likely either a high grade 2 partial knee of a knee ligament or more or a grade 3 full rupture. In either case, it was deemed to require surgery.
“Hard to say if he’ll be back in time for pre-season because we don’t know injury specifics, namely which ligament took the damage.“

Kelly only played a handful of games for the Baggies before Carlos Corberan’s side loaned him out in order to get game time.
He signed on a two-year deal from Crystal Palace in the summer so has another year left on his deal from June.
Thus far, the club have not made a decision on his future as he is continuing his recovery, hoping to be back in time for pre season.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies have started plans for the summer window as they’ve sent scouts to track an in-demand defender with an exit on the cards.
