West Brom midfielder Jayson Molumby stuns Alan McInally v Stoke live on Sky Sports

Alan McInally was stunned when West Brom turned their match against Stoke around, with the Albion coming from behind to beat the Potters 2-1 on Saturday (15 April).

Jacob Brown opened the scoring for the hosts on the half-hour mark, with Stoke going into the break with that lead as the disappointing away record looked like continuing.

But a second-half double from West Brom midfielder Jayson Molumby helped secure all three points for the visitors, keeping the play-off hopes alive as well.

“Huge goal, huge,” McInally said live on Sky Sports News [15 April, 16:41]. “Didn’t think it was going to happen in the first 45 minutes, 2-1 to West Brom.

“Huge three points if they can hold on to this one.”

West Brom

Massive win

It was a feisty encounter between the Potters and the Baggies, with West Brom leaving the happiest as they clinched a huge three points, with the hosts ending the match with 10 men.

Given their recent form, the Albion may have almost given up on a playoff spot, but the 2-1 win at Stoke will have them hoping once more of a dream Premier League promotion.

They sit 11th in the Championship table following the victory, just two points off sixth place in a very competitive campaign.

A whole host of clubs are vying for the precious playoff spots, with the Baggies well in with a shout of securing one if they fight they fought against the Potters.

Molumby has only just returned from an injury sustained while playing for the Republic of Ireland against France in the recent international break, with his club manager Carlos Corberan set to be delighted with the goalscoring return to the starting XI.

Definitely not known for his goals, the midfielder has now doubled his tally for the season, having scored just twice from his previous 37 league matches.

In other West Brom news, one senior player is not expected to return for the Albion this season in a huge blow to manager Corberan.
