Supercomputer shares new West Brom promotion prediction after day of drama in Championship
West Brom have a 10 per cent chance of winning promotion to the Premier League after a day of twists and turns in the Championship on Saturday.
That’s according to FiveThirtyEight’s supercomputer, which predicts the Baggies will finish sixth in the Championship table with 69 points.
West Brom are currently eighth but with two games in hand and other promotion rivals dropping points all over the shop in recent weeks, Carlos Corberan’s side are expected to seal a top-six finish.

All to play for
West Brom have four games left to play while some of their promotion rivals have just the two.
However, Albion’s final four fixtures are very tough ones against teams who are also vying to join what looks to be Luton Town and Middlesbrough in the play-offs.
The Baggies take on Sunderland at The Hawthorns on Sunday before a sprint to the end of the regular season with matches against Sheffield United, Norwich and Swansea.
Coventry’s win over Reading on Saturday moved them up to fifth in the table while Millwall, who remain in sixth, lost to bottom-of-the-table Wigan.
Preston’s late goal against Blackburn also threw a cat among the pigeons in the bidding to finish sixth or higher, meaning that mathematically, every team in the top half has a shot at making the play-offs.
West Brom’s position and spare games are an advantage but that run of fixtures and the club’s injury crisis are the polar opposite.
It’ll be tough but we have to have faith.
