West Brom defender Dara O'Shea is likely to be back in time for the pre-season training camp despite his injury, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert expects the 24-year-old to recover from his campaign-ending knee injury in June when the Baggies are likely to meet up after their end-of-season break.

O'Shea took to Twitter at the end of March to confirm that he will not be featuring in West Brom's promotion quest and thanked everyone for the support they've shown.

Speaking exclusively with West Brom News about O'Shea's injury, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said, "It doesn’t seem like it will cost him the pre-season and should have ample time to be ready if all things go to plan.

"If he is unable, the best way to return to fitness would be to get game minutes in other formats, U-21s for example, and then with the 1st team in bounce matches (substitute appearances to gain match sharpness)."

The Republic of Ireland international was a mainstay for Carlos Corberan at the back, featuring in 37 league games this season.

While he was exemplary with his defending, he also contributed at the other end of the pitch, scoring twice and providing one assist.

Apart from centre-back, the 24-year-old was also deployed at right-back on one occasion in the 2022/23 campaign.
