Nine West Brom players could miss Championship clash v Sheffield United
West Brom could be without nine players for their vital Championship clash against Sheffield United on Wednesday evening.
Nathaniel Chalobah and Daryl Dike are the latest names to join Albion’s ever-growing list of injury concerns. The duo join Grady Diangana, Matt Phillips, Dara O’Shea, Martin Kelly, Kean Bryan and Adam Reach on the sidelines.
Corberan has also provided an injury update on Okay Yokuslu after the 29-year-old played 85 minutes of West Brom’s 2-1 loss against Sunderland.
“I don’t know yet [Yokuslu], because we are going to train in a bit. As soon as he comes here with a report and I talk with the medical staff, I will evaluate everyone,” said Corberan (Birmingham Live, 25 April).
“On Monday, everyone was normal after the game but the second day of recovery is when you know things in detail. The progress is from yesterday to today. When the players come, I will know exactly how they are.”
Albion travel to Bramall Lane just two points adrift of the top six with a game in hand on the sides around them.

Wednesday’s clash against the Blades is shaping up to be a make-or-break moment in Albion’s season. They’re only two points adrift of the top six and also have a crucial game in hand on the teams around them. The trip the South Yorkshire provides Corberan’s side with the chance to reignite their promotion bid.
The injury situation has had a huge impact on the Baggies’ playoff push. Dike’s injury has come at a really bad time. The American physicality and goal threat could’ve been vital during the run-in and the pressure is now firmly on Brandon Thomas-Asante. He’s certainly looked lively, but whether he’s the man to fire the Baggies to promotion remains to be seen.
With the Blades also looking to book their place in the Premier League, there’s certainly a lot riding on this game. There’s pressure on both sides and it’s something West Brom could use to their advantage. If they can produce a fast start and ensure the home crowd remains nervous, things could well fall in the Baggies’ favour.
