Sky Sports pundit stunned by ‘unbelievable’ Jed Wallace in West Brom v Sheffield United
Sheffield United defender Jack O’Connell was full of praise for Jed Wallace as his side won 2-0 against West Brom at Bramall Lane on Wednesday night.
Wallace, 29, has been one of Albion’s best players this season and he was unfortunate to not add to his assists tally in the opening minutes when a beautiful cross to the back post saw Karlan Grant miss a golden opportunity to score.
When looking at replays of Grant’s inexplicable miss, O’Connell admitted the Baggies had the better of the Blades in the opening 45 minutes before praising Wallace’s ability to get the ball into the box.

Speaking on Sky Sports Football at half time on Wednesday night (26 April, 08:54pm), O’Connell said: “West Brom have been the better team, they’ve frustrated us.
“We spoke about Jed Wallace before the game. If you look at this cross here, he’s got an unbelievable delivery.
“He’s got eight assists this season and you can see why.”

Not enough
Wallace was probably West Brom’s best player on the night but he was still way short of the level he needed to be.
We’ve seen the former Millwall winger rip this league to shreds but he’s only really shown that on a handful of occasions for the Baggies this term.
For all the crosses he puts into the cross, you would expect him to get a lot more assists but maybe that’s an issue with the strikers in the side rather than Wallace himself.
For example, that chance he offered up on a plate to Grant.
Any other player in the squad would have scored that goal but of course, one of the most expensive mistakes in West Brom’s history was on the end of it and opted to head the ball into the ground and over the crossbar even though it looked easier to score.
So what he was under pressure? Deal with it. You’re a forward who’s played in the Premier League and cost £15million.
You do feel for Wallace in moments like that but the winger went missing in the second half, especially after Sheffield United’s first goal.
