Jed Wallace misses West Brom training in new injury update at The Hawthorns

West Brom boss Carlos Corberan has revealed injury doubts over Jayson Molumby and Jed Wallace, ahead of the final day Championship showdown against Swansea City, as reported by Birmingham Live.

In particular, he paid tribute to Wallace, describing him as a “physical machine”, following his winning goal against Norwich City on Saturday.

The Baggies go into Monday’s climax in south Wales with a chance of securing a playoff spot but they will require other results to go in their favour, with the duo not training yet.

Corberan’s comments reflected how much he values the attacker, who has featured 49 times in total this season.

“Players like [Jayson] Molumby and [Jed] Wallace haven’t trained yet,” he said.

“After the effort they made, Wallace in the last games has played with a pain in the knee.

“You don’t have time to recover, you have to compete. If you see the GPS values of him, you see the values of someone who is a physical machine.”

Finish line in sight

The fans will be hoping that the season can be extended with a promotion push, but if that transpires, it will put further pressure on a squad already stretched with several injuries.

April was a manic month with eight games played in the space of 29 days, meaning the manager has taken full advantage of the extended break between the final two fixtures of the regular season to lighten the workload at training as well as giving valuable rest time to others.

The finish line is now in sight, ahead of the meeting with Swansea, in which the Baggies can only concentrate on themselves by securing the three points.

Five clubs – Coventry, Millwall, Blackburn, West Brom and Blackburn – are all vying to secure the final playoff spots in what will be a mad Monday.

In other West Brom news, a senior Baggies player has confirmed other clubs want to sign him, with his family involved in his next move.
