Jed Wallace makes promise to West Brom fans on Twitter after defeat v Swansea
Jed Wallace promised West Brom supporters the team will bounce back stronger next season after a “mad” promotion bid finally came to an end on Monday.
The Baggies were beaten 3-2 at Swansea City and consequently finished ninth in the Championship, three points adrift of the play-off places.
Wallace finished his maiden campaign at The Hawthorns with six goals and eight assists and struck a defiant tone when assessing West Brom’s campaign.

“Thank you for the constant loyal support throughout the season from our fans,” Wallace posted on his Twitter account.
“Been a mad season overall but I’ve enjoyed my first year at this amazing club.
“Rest now and we will give everything for success next season!!”
Wallace has a big role to play in uncertain times
For West Brom, the 2022-23 campaign felt like promotion or bust and the club’s fanbase now have huge concerns ahead of the close season.
The arrival of Carlos Corberan to replace Steve Bruce brought fresh optimism and the initial bounce saw the Baggies dreaming of at least a top-six place, while the Spaniard penned fresh terms until 2027 back in February having been linked with the then-vacant Leeds United job.
But form tailed off towards the latter part of the campaign and with cash-flow problems affecting the club off the pitch, coupled with the fact their parachute payments from the Premier League will decrease to around £15million, the next couple of months are pretty uncertain for West Brom.
Key players such as Dara O’Shea may have to be sold to try and balance the books at the Hawthorns and it remains to be seen what sort of budget will be available to Corberan as he looks to plot a fresh attempt at promotion next term.
It means players like Wallace, who arrived on a free from Millwall ahead of this season, will be of particular importance during what could be a difficult rebuild.
