Zac Ashworth sends message amid West Brom future update amid loan development
Zac Ashworth posted a fond farewell message to Burton Albion on Twitter ahead of a return to West Brom, where he is expected to feature more prominently next season.
Defender Ashworth has spent the second half of the 2022-23 campaign on loan at the Pirelli Stadium, where he made 18 appearances to help Burton retain their League One status.
Birmingham Live reports Ashworth and fellow defender Caleb Taylor, who is returning from a temporary spell at Cheltenham Town, are both in line for more regular action at The Hawthorns next term.

“Just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone at @burtonalbionfc the last few months,” Ashworth posted on Twitter.
“A club full of great people, fans and an amazing set of lads. It’s been a fantastic experience and I’ve loved my time here, I wish everyone involved at the club all the best for the future.”
West Brom will need to show faith in their young stars
The Baggies are seemingly headed for a tumultuous few months, with cash-flow problems having affected the club throughout the 2022-23 season.
Carlos Corberan was brought in to try and secure promotion to the top flight after the failed tenure of veteran boss Steve Bruce.

But, despite promising early form under the Spaniard, West Brom could only finish ninth in the Championship standings and already the vultures are circling to bid for their top talents such as Karlan Grant and Dara O’Shea.
With parachute payments from the Premier League now reducing to £15million, the need to cash in on their bigger names means Corberan will likely to have show more faith in the club’s young guns.
Both Ashworth and Taylor certainly fit that mould, and opportunities to impress during pre-season look certain to be there for the 20-year-olds. The Baggies’ young pups are now the key to helping the club achieve their long-term aim of returning to the top flight.
